I was born and raised in Americus, Georgia, and graduated with a Special Education degree from Georgia Southwestern State University. I hold certifications in Special Education, General Education, and Family and Consumer Sciences. I have taught a total of 18 years, and recently made a change from teaching Special Education to FACS and FCCLA adviser. I began teaching in 1992 at Pearl Stephens Elementary for 3 years at which time I had my first born, then spent 10 years as a homemaker. In 2005 I was excited to start back teaching, and was blessed to receive a position at Feagin Mill, and been at The Mill ever since. This will be my 2nd year as the Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher/FCCLA advisor, and I am beyond thrilled to help each student become more independent at home and the community.
I work at the best school with the best students and faculty, so it was an honor to represent FMMS as the 2017-18 Teacher of the Year.
